Publicly Available Information
River Path Home Loans is a trading name. Depending on which adviser you work with, the regulated financial advice you receive is provided by either FAME NZ Limited or MGLAC Enterprises Limited. Both entities operate from 62 Wake Street, Hamilton 3210 and trade as River Path Home Loans.
Licencing Information
NZ Financial Services Group Limited (FAP 2869095) holds a licence issued by the Financial Markets Authority to provide financial advice. FAME NZ Limited (FSP 1008247) and MGLAC Enterprises Limited (FSP 1007913) are authorised by that licence to provide financial advice.
The financial advisers giving advice under that licence are:
- Matt Edwards — Financial Adviser, FSP 174464, gives advice under FAME NZ Limited.
- Gareth King — Financial Adviser, FSP 224425, gives advice under MGLAC Enterprises Limited.

Nature and Scope of Advice
We provide regulated financial advice on:
- Home loans and mortgages from a panel of New Zealand banks and non-bank lenders. See our lender panel for the full list.
We give advice on mortgage products from the lenders on our panel only. For insurance, KiwiSaver, and other financial products, we refer you to trusted specialists — see our referral partners.
Fees and Expenses
In most cases we don't charge you a fee for our advice. We are paid by commission from lenders when a loan settles.
On occasion we may charge you a one-off fee — for example, if you request advice and the work doesn't result in a commission being paid (a withdrawn application, specialist non-bank lending, or unusually small loans). Where a fee applies, we'll tell you the amount in writing and you must agree to it before any work begins.
Conflicts of Interest and Incentives
We receive commissions from the providers on whose products we give advice. Commission amounts depend on the size of the loan. The standard structure is:
- An upfront commission from the lender of approximately 0.50% – 0.85% of the loan amount, plus an ongoing service fee of approximately 0.15% – 0.20% per year while the loan remains in place.
- We may also receive referral fees where we refer you to a third party (for example, a lawyer or specialist adviser).
- From time to time we may receive promotional gifts or hospitality from product providers.
To manage these conflicts we follow a structured advice process that documents the rationale for every recommendation, our advisers complete annual professional development and compliance training, and we maintain a register of any gifts received over a nominal value.
Commission rates across the major NZ banks are broadly similar; the differences don't drive our advice. If a conflict ever arises that we can't manage, we'll disclose it in writing before giving you advice.

We will acknowledge your complaint within two business days and aim to provide a full response within 20 business days. If your complaint can't be resolved to your satisfaction, you can refer it to our independent external dispute resolution scheme, Financial Services Complaints Limited (FSCL). FSCL provides a free, independent dispute resolution service.

Duties Information
FAME NZ Limited, MGLAC Enterprises Limited, and our individual financial advisers have duties under the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013 to:
- Give priority to your interests by taking all reasonable steps to ensure our advice isn't materially influenced by our own interests.
- Exercise care, diligence, and skill in providing you with advice.
- Meet the standards of competence, knowledge, and skill set out in the Code of Professional Conduct for Financial Advice Services.
- Meet the standards of ethical behaviour, conduct, and client care set out in that Code.
