The career
Bank to broker.
Matt spent the first decade of his career as a lending specialist at a major New Zealand bank. He sat on the inside of the credit machine, learnt how decisions actually get made, and watched too many good applications get a no for the wrong reasons.
In 2007 he switched sides. Mortgage broking gave him the lever he needed: choose the right bank for the right person, package the application properly, and get a yes on the first go.
Nineteen years and several thousand settlements later, that's still the job. Same lever, sharper.
